Traditional Italian Boats of Sardinia and Venice

November 19th 2008, Maritime Seminars

"In 2008, I worked in a boatyard on the west coast of Sardinia in the historic city of Alghero repairing a traditional wooden fish boat, and then traveled to Venice and through the rest of Italy and Europe exploring my passion for marine history."

Many thanks to Tony for giving us a chance to hear this brilliant talk and slideshow again, after giving it the first time under very difficult circumstances, during the snowstorm/power outage at the 2008 BoatLaunch Festival.

Painter, boatbuilder, furniture-maker, and educator Tony Grove keeps busy at his shop/studio on Gabriola when he isn't teaching or lecturing around the continent. He is a former head instructor at the Shipyard School.
